Position Summary

The Specialist – Family Medicine at NMC Royal Hospital in Dubai provides comprehensive medical care to patients, diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of internal organ systems as part of an integrated curative and preventive program. This role involves conducting outpatient consultations, prescribing treatments, and ensuring patient care aligns with international guidelines and UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties of a Specialist in Family Medicine per approved delineation of privileges.
• Conduct outpatient medical consultations by appointment and follow up on medical issues as needed.
• Administer Executive Health Program examinations regularly.
• Order diagnostic laboratory and X-ray examinations, diagnose conditions, prescribe therapies, and implement preventive measures.
• Prescribe or administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury.
• Immunize patients as part of preventive care.
• Collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical histories, reports, and examination results.
• Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
• Stay current on medical advancements by reviewing journals, textbooks, and participating in in-service training and physician conferences.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulations, and Joint Commission International norms.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved medical school with one year of internship and three years of residency.
• Certification by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Member of the Royal College of Physicians, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of practice as a Specialist in Family Medicine, including 2 years as a licensed specialist.
• Current licensure in the country of origin and a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license to practice Family Medicine in Dubai, UAE.
• Thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with a focus on patient confidentiality.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with co-workers, superiors, patients, and families.
• Mature clinical judgment and ability to provide professional leadership.
