Position Summary

The Nurse Supervisor at NMC Specialty Hospital in Dubai leads and supports nursing teams to deliver safe, compassionate, and individualized care in alignment with NMC’s Nursing Mission, Vision, and Values. This role involves clinical and administrative oversight, fostering a learning culture, ensuring quality assurance, and promoting patient-centered care within the scope of practice and UAE regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold NMC’s Nursing Mission, Vision, and Values by delivering safe, compassionate, and individualized care.
• Perform systematic patient assessments, develop and evaluate care plans, and monitor treatment outcomes in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
• Supervise and mentor student nurses, newly graduated nurses, and staff undergoing cross-training or upskilling.
• Lead and support audits, data collection for KPIs, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
• Ensure compliance with NMC policies, UAE Code of Conduct, and regulatory standards (DOH/DHA/MOH/MOHAP).
• Manage deteriorating patients using Early Warning System escalation processes and American Heart Association emergency algorithms.
• Promote infection prevention and control, adhering to strict hand hygiene and environmental care standards.
• Support patient education, health promotion, and emotional support for patients and families.
• Assist in medical procedures, patient admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
• Report incidents, near misses, and serious events promptly through the incident reporting system.
• Act as a role model, fostering a positive practice environment aligned with ANCC Pathway to Excellence® standards.
• Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults per UAE regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse under the relevant UAE regulatory health authority (DOH/DHA/MOH/MOHAP).
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent from an accredited school.
• Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider certification.
• Post-graduate specialist qualification, diploma, degree, or master’s in a nursing specialty.
• Previous experience in the specialist field with completed relevant competencies.
• Strong communication skills in English (spoken and written); Arabic proficiency is desirable but not essential.
• Clinical skills in patient assessment, care planning, and medical procedures, with expertise in the specialty area.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and supervise nursing staff while promoting a learning culture.
