Position Summary

The Registered Nurse – Long Term Care Unit (LTCU) at NMC Provita provides comprehensive patient care, focusing on safety, evidence-based practice, and patient/family-centered care. This role involves assessing, planning, and evaluating care for patients with complex needs, advocating for their well-being, and supporting education and quality improvement initiatives in a dynamic long-term care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective, and organized nursing care, addressing physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate care plans based on evidence-based practices and critical thinking.
• Advocate for patients and families, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to the 12 medication rights.
• Provide education to patients and families on care aspects and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Assist physicians/therapists with procedures and coordinate patient care as needed.
• Actively participate in Performance Improvement and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
• Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge and comply with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited school.
• Current valid registration in country of training or last employment, eligible for DOH licensing.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience, with recent ICU or long-term care unit assignment.
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) training; ACLS (for adults) or PALS (for pediatrics) preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence-based practice and Severe Care Domains of DOH.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and function under stress.
• Critical care or pediatric qualification preferred.
