Position Summary

The Consultant – Dermatology at NMC Clinic at Nakheel Mall is primarily responsible for providing consultation services to patients with skin diseases in the outpatient department. This role includes admitting and managing patients requiring inpatient care, providing consultation services to inpatients, and performing dermatologic procedures. The Consultant ensures high-quality care in accordance with the delineation of privileges and adheres to NMC Healthcare’s standards and policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform professional duties as a Dermatologist in accordance with approved delineation of privileges.
• Conduct assessments and reassessments for all patients in the outpatient department, on admission, and prior to procedures.
• Evaluate patients with skin diseases daily in the Dermatology outpatient clinic.
• Provide consultation services to inpatients in the area of dermatology expertise.
• Admit and manage patients with skin diseases requiring inpatient care.
• Provide on-call emergency coverage for dermatologic emergencies.
• Perform dermatologic procedures, including PUVA therapy, skin biopsy, cryosurgery, and excision.
• Participate in committees as needed and contribute to the Quality Assurance Programme through chart review and peer review.
• Perform other related duties as requested by the Head of the Department.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to medical ethics, bylaws, rules, and regulations of NMC Healthcare.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved medical school with a valid license to practice medicine.
• Certification by the American Board of Dermatology or equivalent U.K. certification (e.g., Member of the Royal College of Physicians, PAEDS).
• Minimum of 3 years as a full-time dermatologist post-residency training.
• Current licensure in country of origin and a valid Dubai Health Authority (DHA) license to practice as a dermatologist in Dubai, UAE.
• Thorough knowledge of medical ethics, with a focus on patient confidentiality.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with co-workers, superiors, and patient families.
• Personality that inspires confidence and trust in patients.
