Associate Staff Physician – Emergency Medicine - Abu Dhabi

Job Summary

This is a physician position responsible for applying medical knowledge and skills to the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of illnesses for patients within the Integrated Hospital Care Institute – Emergency Medicine specialty at CCAD. Under the supervision and guidance of a Consultant physician, this position treats patients directly and/or may make referrals to different members of the health care professional team at CCAD.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision, guidance and approval of a Consultant Staff:

• Monitor and provide care to patients at CCAD within the Emergency Medicine specialty
• Prescribe or administer medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
• Analyze records, reports and test results to diagnose patient's medical condition
• Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients
• Provide specific treatments and/or perform operations to treat patient medical conditions
• Perform surgical procedures and operations as appropriate
• Provide hospital on-call inpatient coverage as deemed necessary
• Supply and provide care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner

Experience Requirements

• For Associate Staff (Specialist) from Tier 1 and Tier 2 countries, no additional experience required post board certification
• For Associate Staff (Specialist) from Tier 3, not less than 3 years clinical experience as Specialist post qualification in internationally accredited institute. UAE nationals require not less than one (1) year experience post qualification in the specialty field
• Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)
• Demonstrated expertise in specialty practice area
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills with patients, staff and other physicians
• Ability to speak and write in English is required

Education Requirements

• MD, MBBS, MBChB or DO (only if the specialization is obtained from American Board of Medical Specialties or Certificates of Specializations of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada) or equivalent qualification from an accredited Institution and completion of specialty qualification as per the Recognized Specialty Certificate table listed in Healthcare Professionals Qualification Requirements 2024

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to speak and write in both English and Arabic is preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and staff
