Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Nurse Educator (APNE) for the Transitional Care Units, Low Intensity Rehab, and Complex Continuing Care (CCC) programs at the Toronto Rehab Bickle Centre is an integral member of the interdisciplinary leadership team within the Collaborative Academic Practice portfolio. Reporting to the Manager, Professional Practice, the APNE develops and sustains an academic practice environment, collaborating with unit managers, educators, and stakeholders to support clinical care projects, promote professional development, and contribute to scholarship, inquiry, and research. This role focuses on designing and delivering education, mentoring nurses, and leading quality improvement initiatives to advance best practices at the point of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver tailored staff education programs to support clinical excellence in Transitional Care Units, Low Intensity Rehab, and CCC programs.
• Promote professional development and mentor nurses for career growth.
• Collaborate with teams across UHN and the academic community on clinical and educational initiatives.
• Participate in committees and share best practices to enhance program effectiveness.
• Lead program evaluation, implement innovative education strategies, and support quality improvement initiatives.
• Drive nursing visibility and change management efforts while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
