As a member of the Interprofessional GU Radiation Oncology Team, the Nurse Practitioner (NP) functions in an advanced practice role at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This new position involves autonomous and collaborative management of patients with genitourinary (GU) cancers, participation in clinical trials, patient education, survivorship support, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The NP also undertakes leadership, academic, and quality improvement activities. Responsibilities may evolve to include brachytherapy, radiotherapy, and systemic therapy (radionuclide/theranostic approaches), but the foundation remains patient-centered care and interprofessional collaboration.
