NMC Specialty Hospital, Al Ain, is hiring a Specialist in Ophthalmology to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred eye care while upholding Joint Commission standards, clinical governance, and health information security.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure ophthalmology services meet JCI standards; monitor quality of care and review complex/special cases.
• Stay current with advances in the field; participate in weekly rounds, peer reviews, QA programs, and committee work.
• Coordinate with the Head of Department on curative and preventive programs and support their implementation.
• Teach and orient nursing and ancillary staff; communicate regularly with the HOD and team.
• Strictly adhere to policies for infection control, patient safety, assessment, and care.
• Comply with OSHMS policies, report hazards/incidents, use PPE, and participate in safety training and drills.
• Adhere to ADHICS requirements for accurate documentation, patient privacy, data integrity, and information security.
• Demonstrate basic computer literacy (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations).
• Perform other duties as assigned by the department.

Qualifications

• MBBS from an accredited medical school.
• Post‑graduate Master’s degree or equivalent Fellowships approved by the Department of Health (DOH).
• Minimum of 3 years’ post‑certification experience as an Ophthalmologist.
• Current licensure in the country of origin and a DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Excellent English communication skills; Arabic is desirable.
• Strong ethics, confidentiality, and interpersonal skills.
