American Hospital Dubai is looking for a specialized and meticulous Staff Nurse to join our Ophthalmology Clinic. You will be responsible for providing direct, age-specific care, from initial screenings to assisting in advanced laser and surgical procedures. This role is integral to our team, requiring a focus on patient safety, care coordination, and adherence to JCI standards in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform initial patient screenings, including visual acuity, color vision, and intraocular pressure (IOP) tests.
• Assist ophthalmologists with in-office procedures such as Intravitreal injections, Chalazion excisions, and various laser treatments (Retinal, Glaucoma, Yag).
• Support diagnostic examinations including A-scan and B-scan eye ultrasounds.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to create and manage care plans.
• Coordinate patient care, prioritize clinical needs, and ensure all interventions are documented accurately. * Maintain a safe and sterile environment, ensuring all ophthalmic equipment and supplies are properly managed.
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives and maintain professional competency in ophthalmic nursing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (minimum 3-year full-time course duration).
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent post-graduate experience in Ophthalmology Nursing.
• Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in your home country and/or country of last employment.
• A valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Strong skills in patient assessment and care coordination within an ophthalmology setting.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic procedures, instruments, and medications.
