NMC Specialty Hospital is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Registered Nurse for our Endoscopy Unit. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive peri-procedural care, from patient assessment and preparation to assisting physicians during procedures and ensuring patient safety throughout. This role is vital for the smooth operation of our endoscopy services and requires a commitment to the highest standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the endoscopy suite, including all equipment, instruments, and supplies, ensuring functionality and sterility.
• Provide comprehensive peri-procedural nursing care, from patient admission and assessment to recovery.
• Strictly adhere to the ‘TIME OUT’ safety protocol before all procedures to ensure patient safety.
• Monitor patients closely during and after sedation/anesthesia, using tools like the Aldrete score to assess recovery.
• Manage the proper disinfection, storage, and handling of endoscopes and accessories according to hospital policy.
• Maintain accurate inventory of medications, including high-alert and narcotic drugs.
• Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff by adhering to all infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Current license in country of origin and with DOH license to practice in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Minimum of 2 years of post-qualification nursing experience, preferably in an endoscopy or procedural setting.
• Must be a certified BLS provider.
• Good command of spoken and written English; Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
