American Hospital Dubai is looking for a highly skilled and resilient Staff Nurse to join our fast-paced Emergency Room team. You will be responsible for providing direct and indirect age-specific care to patients, encompassing assessment, diagnosis, planning, and intervention. This role requires exceptional clinical skills and the ability to thrive under pressure while adhering to the highest standards of patient safety and care as set by Joint Commission International (JCI).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive, age-specific patient assessments and conduct triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI).
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate and prioritize patient care based on individual needs and clinical pathways.
• Interpret basic ECGs and arterial blood gas results, and monitor arterial and central venous pressures.
• Administer emergency medications, manage moderate sedation, and perform advanced procedures such as intubation assistance and intraosseous infusion.
• Manage and care for central venous access devices (CVADs), implanted ports (IVADs), and chest tubes for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Document all relevant data accurately in the medical record and ensure compliance with all hospital and JCIA standards.
• Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education and participation in unit-based quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (minimum 3-year full-time course duration).
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent post-graduate experience in an Emergency Room setting.
• Must hold a valid license/registration to practice in your home country and/or country of last employment.
• Required Certifications: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS), Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) and Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certifications are preferred.
