NMC Royal Hospital, Sharjah is hiring a Consultant Gastroenterologist to deliver expert, patient‑centred GI care across outpatient and inpatient settings. You will provide consultations, perform procedures within your privileging, and champion a high‑quality, safe, and empathetic patient experience while collaborating across the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities:

Provide specialist gastroenterology consultations and manage OP/IP cases, involving patients in decisions and keeping them informed.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within scope/privileges (e.g., upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy; advanced interventions as credentialed).
Ensure precise, guideline‑aligned care; complete tasks accurately and on time; maintain thorough documentation.
Proactively identify and share knowledge; contribute to service quality, audits, and continuous improvement.
Respond to complaints professionally and promptly; communicate progress to stakeholders.
Build positive team relationships; handle conflict calmly; demonstrate empathy and respect for diverse views.
Adhere to OSHMS: use PPE, follow emergency/evacuation procedures, assist with risk assessments, report hazards/incidents, attend safety training and drills.
Uphold Prevention & Control of Infection: strict hand hygiene (5 moments), bare‑below‑the‑elbows, environmental care.
Qualifications:

Qualified and licensed Medical Practitioner.
Basic medical degree plus higher specialty training (fellowship/diploma) in Gastroenterology recognized by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
3–5 years’ post‑qualification experience at consultant level, including at least 1 year at consultant level from a Tier 1 country (per UAE regulator).
Current licensure in country of origin and eligibility/licence to practice in the UAE.
Excellent English communication; Arabic desirable.
Strong interpersonal skills; resilient, patient‑focused, and committed to teamwork and quality.
