Consultant – Colorectal Surgeon (Minimally Invasive & Robotic Surgery Expert)

📋 Full Job Description:

🔍 Position Overview:

• Full-time Consultant role in the Colorectal Surgery Department at a leading medical facility.
• Focused on high-level surgical care for colorectal conditions using advanced technologies.

🩺 Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and manage colorectal diseases such as:
  • Colorectal cancer
  • Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s/Ulcerative Colitis)
  • Diverticular disease
  • Anorectal conditions (fistulas, hemorrhoids, fissures)
• Perform surgical procedures including:
  • Laparoscopic colon resections
  • Robotic-assisted surgeries
  • Stoma creation and reversal
  • Transanal minimally invasive surgery (TAMIS)
• Assess and guide patients through pre-op, post-op, screenings, and follow-ups.
• Collaborate with gastroenterologists, oncologists, radiologists, and dietitians.
• Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to complex case discussions.
• Educate patients on disease prevention, prognosis, treatment options, and recovery.
• Stay updated on global best practices and participate in education, training, and clinical research.

🎓 Requirements:

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) with a specialization in General Surgery plus fellowship in Colorectal Surgery.
• Board certification in Colorectal Surgery (American Board or equivalent).
• Valid DHA license (or eligibility) to practice in Dubai.
• At least 6 years of experience as a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon post-board certification.
• Skilled in advanced laparoscopic and robotic colorectal procedures.
• Excellent surgical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Western-trained background required (USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Western Europe).
